This image meant a lot to me as it remind me of my walk with my family.
This image is taken in 2003 and it was not a plan shot.At that time my daughter is 3 years old and I was alway travelling around in Asia doing shots. I was hardly around most of the time.
When I am in Singapore we usually go out for dinner or shopping and when we come home, we will take off our shoes and leave at the entrance.
Once I notice my daughter rearranging our shoes when we came home. I walk over and saw she have arrange the shoe in a rather surprising way.
From this visual language I realised my role in this family has taken a back seat. My daughter has openly show her feeling in a visually artistic way that impacted me.
I thank God that over this period of 10 over years, me and my daughter have gotten to be very close. Everyday our love ones will send us messages not in a form of text message but also visual images to express their inner feeling. Beware and take note.
This is so true that during these years, when I taught photography to a group of young boys who encounter life issues, their selections of image they enjoy or like show a deeper emotional attachment.
